My client was coming towards the end of her career when she was promoted to be divisional director with increased responsibility for a range of training centres and many more staff. The coaching brief from her MD was to support her in stepping up to the new responsibilities and delivering challenging revenue targets while also thinking about the transition to retirement.
We worked together over six months on how to manage and influence upwards and downwards and how to motivate herself and her team in a constantly changing environment. We also looked at a plan for transitioning to retirement and for finding and developing her successor.
By the end of our coaching work, the client was able to deliver fully on all her financial targets. The MD approved her plan for a staged move to retirement and for her succession.
