For the past 16 years, I’ve provided executive coaching to leaders, ambitious managers and business owners in Europe, the US and the Asia-Pacific region. I’ve worked with people from organisations including, ABN AMRO, Aon, AstraZeneca, Bird & Bird LLP, Cancer Research UK, Dept of Business, HMRC, Natural History Museum, Passport Office, Pfizer and Department of Science and Technology.
My approach to coaching is based on two fervent beliefs. First, all of us have tremendous but often untapped potential to change and grow. Second, wellbeing and success arise from authenticity; we are at our happiest and most effective when we feel we are being true to ourselves in the role and environment in which we work.
The key is to discover what that 'self' is - what is most important to clients deep down. This task is at the heart of my coaching work. Once clients are really clear on who they are and what their purpose is at work, this will unleash the energy, creativity and determination to bring about the change they are seeking.
While I coach a wide range of clients, I specialise in leadership coaching to help people become inspiring leaders. I coach clients to develop a greater understanding of themselves and others and to discover and use their own authentic voice. I also have a strong interest in communication coaching to help business people become more effective communicators and professional advisor coaching for communicators, lawyers, accountants, consultants, HR practitioners and others in professional services roles.
In all my coaching work, I seek to be both challenging and supportive – clients often see me as a critical friend who can facilitate their development and success.
I completed an Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching with the Academy of Executive Coaching in 2004. I then undertook research at Oxford Brookes University between 2009 and 2011, leading to an MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice (distinction). I am also a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner and have pursued a wide variety of personal development including the Heart and Craft of the Storyteller at the International School of Storytelling.
I am a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.
All told, I have spent 30 years working in employee engagement and organisational change as a leader, manager, consultant, group facilitator and coach. I have developed particular expertise in the art and science of leadership and of interpersonal communication.
Before moving into coaching, I held senior positions in global companies including Citibank, Infolink and Marconi. For several years I was MD of a boutique corporate communication consultancy. The experience I have gained over my career has equipped me to understand and work within organisational realities in major corporations and in SMEs.
